Japanese Aesthetics in Photography II: Online

6 Tuesdays:  September 10 – October 15, 1 – 3:30 p.m.

New! Wabi-Sabi is the Japanese philosophy centered on the acceptance that beauty can be transient and imperfect. Maximize your potential in photography by experiencing this Japanese aesthetic. You will explore the great photographers of Japan and create a book, video, or portfolio from images taken in class. We will also investigate the conceptof satori, or sudden enlightenment, in terms of image making. We will photograph, write, and discover new sources of inspiration. Weekly image feedback and a one-on-one session with the instructor is included. Intermediate to advanced. FPC required course option, master track

The Ascent of Abstraction, History of Photography, A Project Orientated Workshop

Dates and Place TBA ( Online New!) Intermediate to advanced level

Follow the evolution of Abstraction in photography from the beginning of its invention. Take a journey and explore conceptual possibilities for new projects. Dissolve, deconstruct, and destroy the subject that stands before your camera. Create a new reality from inside you. Bring the invisible alive. Each week you will be given a project to do based on artists in the presentation. You will present images the following week and be given the opportunity to comment on images from other participants in DropBox.

Mentoring One-to-One (contact me directly)

Designed and individually structured for those desiring one-to-one mentoring to create a themed portfolio. Participants will be given feedback and direction on content and assistance with tools like Lightroom and Photoshop for developing a project. The goal will be strengthening your artistic voice by developing independence and clarity in image-making.
